THE MODERN NEWSPAPER

While the fun culminated in a Texas takeover in the west, the reigning leaders on the regular season board continued to make statement after statement in the east. The Boston Celtics, led by the lights-out 3-point shooting of Dereck White, overcame a 20-point deficit in game two to secure an ultimate 4-1 lacerating win against the Miami Heat, despite their injured star Jimmy Butler. The Celtics continued to dominate in close games against the Cleveland Cavaliers, void of Jarrett Allen and the eventual loss of key player Donovan Mitchell. While the series was competitive, Boston took home the 4-1 semi-finals win. The Celtics marched on to meet the fast-paced Pacers. The games had fans on the edges of their seats as final seconds turned into victories for the Boston Celtics. While the Pacers fought hard with exceptional performances by Nembhardt, Toppin, and Miles Turner, the Celtics brought the series home with a 4-0 sweep.

What is it going to take?

Tatum took to the presser after the Game 2 Celtics win, sharing his eyes are locked in to win. “Do whatever it takes, for however long it takes.”

The Celtics have the opportunity to take their collective experience of three conference finals appearances in the last four years, now two finals appearances, and make the right plays to get their hands on those rings. The Dallas Mavericks have the veteran experience of NBA Champion Kyrie Irving, key role players, and the star power of Luka Doncic, all in the hope of making a statement for why this year belongs to them.   Thus far this finals run…

Dallas presently trails in the series. While coming up with a triple-double from Doncic, it still was not enough to get the win on Sunday night. Dallas has an opportunity to respond Wednesday evening in front of their fans at the American Airlines Arena. Jrue Holiday led all scorers in Game 2, and Boston looks to keep their 10-0 record on the road alive as they remain in Texas for Game 3. Both teams will need to play smart, get more ball movement for Dallas as well as show up defensively, and make the right plays for Boston. It will be exciting!

Game 3:

Kyrie had a stellar performance that still was not enough as Luka Doncic got into foul trouble with 4.5 minutes left in the game. The Boston Celtics played with a comfortability that continues as they dominated to take a 3-0 lead in this finals series. Will Dallas make a come back? Will Boston finally finish the job? Tune in on Friday, June 14th for Game 4!
